How to Play

Welcome to the realm. Everything runs in your browser — no download, no launcher — and your character persists between sessions.

1. Create a character

From the portal, choose Play now and roll a character. Pick one of the seven classes — Knight, Warrior, Paladin, Sorcerer, Druid, Assassin or Warlock — and customize your appearance. Each class has its own stat growth and spell book, so your choice shapes how you'll fight for the rest of the run.

2. Step into the world

You spawn at the temple of the capital city, on the Capital — the capital and the four isles around it, joined by bridges. Maps link edge to edge with no loading screens: walk across a seam or over a bridge and the neighbouring map streams in around you. A live day/night cycle tints the sky as time passes. The Travel Agent books passage to the other islands; the isles themselves you walk.

3. Fight and level up

Face a monster and attack to fight in real time. Damage is resolved on the server with mitigation, dodge and critical hits. Every kill grants experience; level up to raise your stats and unlock new spells at levels 1, 3, 5, 8, 11, 14, 18, 22, 26 and beyond.

4. Where to level

Every map has a recommended level. It is on the minimap badge (Lv 10–14), in the banner as you walk onto a map, and beside each destination at the Travel Agent. Every monster on a map sits inside its band, and that is where your time pays best: monsters well below you give little XP for the time they take, and a monster more than three levels above you gives less for each level beyond that. Nothing is locked — you can walk anywhere.

Your level Where to hunt
1–10 The capital (1–4), then on foot over the west bridge: Blossomere (3–7), then Saltmarrow (6–10)
9–16 Greenhollow: the town (9–11), Northwatch, Westmere, Southshore, Eastridge, then Dawnstrand (14–16)
15–25 Sunscar: the town (15–17), Dunehead, Saltmere, Redscar, Sunstrand, Saltpans, Bonewood, then Emberreach (23–25)
25–30 Frostholm: the town (25–27), Glassmere, Brackenfen, then Rimeholt (28–30)
30–35 Back beside the capital, over its north bridge: Rimeholt (30–33), then Emberfall (32–35), home of the Elder monsters

The Travel Agent in each island's town takes you between the islands. The capital's north bridge leads straight onto level-30 ground: its road to the shrine is kept clear, but the wilds either side are not.

Dungeons (the Dungeons button, with a party): Gravetusk Warren 7–9, Deeprock Mine 10–13, Winterhall Undercroft 15–18, Cinderhold Deepworks 20–23, Morvane's Ossuary 24–28 and Ymirr's Throat 29–34.

5. Gear, gather and craft

Loot drops from monsters and nodes. Gather wood, ore and herbs by holding to harvest, craft materials into gear and potions, then refine and socket your equipment at the blacksmith. Equip across five paperdoll slots — weapon, helmet, armor, legs and boots — and your gear is composited live onto your character.

6. Group up

Add friends, form a party to share kill XP, and join a guild — the unit that owns castles in the Castle War. Chat is tabbed across global, party, guild and private whispers. A whisper to someone offline waits for their next login; a whisper conversation is cleared once you have both logged out. All chat is cleared every day at 04:00 UTC, with a warning five minutes before; a whisper still waiting for someone offline is kept, and mail is not affected.

7. Pick a war

Two of them run at once. Your guild fights other guilds for the seven castles — Winterhall, Harrenfell, Astrun, Brynhild, Swanstone, Vermilion Arbor and Thornspire — in the scheduled Castle War. Your faction, which you do not get to choose, fights the other faction over the six Holy Relics whose blessings buff everyone flying the same banner.
